Galveston Early Vote Rally
A few rain drops, an early call time and long lines didn’t keep these Galvestonians from seeing former President Bill Clinton stump on behalf of his wife Wednesday morning. More importantly – nothing could keep them from storming the New Justice Center – the only early voting location on Galveston Island – following the president’s directive to take advantage of Texas’s 10-day early vote window. This second day of early voting in Galveston County can claim a solid count of Hillary supporters, as the large crowd took their energy and excitement straight to the polling booths behind the president’s stage – comprised of pick up truck and Texas flag. Supporters were impressed by the fact that President Clinton didn’t just come out to talk, but to put them to work. Of course, this is only half the battle, as President Clinton emphasized.
With one vote down and a precinct convention to go, local supporters will head to the Galveston for Hillary Headquarters (527 21st Street, Galveston, TX 77550) opening on Wednesday evening to sign up to become precinct captains, early vote captains, and phone bankers. With their votes already in the bank, now it’s time to continue reaching out to everyone else in Galveston, Brazoria, Chambers and Matagorda Counties.
